“Goodnight Irene”

November 17, 2012 by Zoe-Lee Skelton

Painted to the sounds of Leadbelly for the exhibition Error 404 at The A Side B Side Gallery in Hackney.

The content alludes to the sequence in A Clockwork Orange, where Alex relinquishes control over his ability to self censor. This is an interesting binary opposition to me, as I feel that the news, media, and our fellow human being bombards us with tragedy and trauma; often against our better interests.

Adobe Illustrator Vector Shape Techniques

November 17, 2012 by Zoe-Lee Skelton

This is the result of placing a vector shape over an imported image, grouping the objects and then creating a clipping mask. Anyway, I’m really pleased with the result, so I think I’ll give heart shapes a try next.

Stay tuned…

Running for cover drawing

November 27, 2011 by Zoe-Lee Skelton

This drawing is inspired by a stretched photocopy of a Jehovah’s Witness Leaflet. The imagery and message are somewhat skewed…much like the distress captured in my drawing…
